Psychology -- Exactly what does this word mean? It is derived from the Greek meaning "Psyche" (the Soul) and "Logos" (A study of or a treatise). OK, then we come up with the study or science of the Soul.

Naturally if an astronomer is going to study the science of the heavens he has the stars and the heavens to work with. The geologists have the earth to work with. - Then what is it we have to work with in the study (science) of psychic phenomena? The obvious conclusion is that our commodity is the soul. So where do we go from here?? First there are a few things we must take into account before we can go any further and one of the major things is "Emotion". A quick look at history tells us what has been done in the way of tortures, shedding of blood, etc., in the name of religion which was nothing more than perverted emotions. Even today much cruelty is prevalent because of religious emotionalism. Much so called Spiritism and psychic work is nothing more than misdirected emotion which, of course, removes it from the realm of science.

Another block in our search can be "prejudice". Most prejudice is simply the result of our own preconcieved opinions usually based on the opinions of others which we are taught to accept as Truth. Of course there is nothing scientific in this sort of attitude.

Now we must come to this conclusion. If we are to arrive at anything worthwhile and sustaining in our search we must look upon it as a definite science devoid of all prejudices and emotionalism.

The very physical way we live tends to hide from us the true existence of our own soul but thru the science of psychic development the door to understanding is opened. Actually the study of the soul is the study of religion - THEY CANNOT BE SEPARATED. Psychic understanding deals with the soul and GIVES PURPOSE FOR RELIGION - - I did not say "church" - there is a difference.

It is because man has allowed himself to remain ignorant of his psychic being that he has created gods of weakness, ignorance, greed, intolerance, prejudice, etc. IT IS A FACT that religion is based on the psychic in some way. It might be difficult to accept this but it is true none the less.

Science is fast removing the things of nature from the supernatural to the natural. So it must be with the science of the soul. Once this is recognized as a science we will begin to get somewhere.

Every true scientist is anything but normal. It is the true scientist that discovers the abnormal to be quite normal. Most people are not scientific at all in their psychic development - they are what I call "surface bouncers" which means, of course that their complete approach is one of simply PERSONAL answers but the true scientist deals with Laws, Principals and Truths.

It is because of illness and disease the doctor is able to become acquainted with the laws of health. Sickness and disease are abnormal conditions but because of them science can learn about, not only the physical body, but also about the inter-relationship between the physical and the mental which brings about the illness. When man fully realizes that the soul can also be ill because of a lack of understanding its true purpose and function he then can begin to do something about it. It will be the abnormal person who will make the important discoveries regarding the psychic and will bring it into its own so it will, one day, have the dignity it deserves.

When the soul is brought out from the shadows of doubts and fears man will discover what it really is and why it is.

The parachute jumper is abnormal but is admired for his courage. The Einsteins and the Edisons are abnormal but are admired for their brilliance of mind. Great athletes and entertainers and writers are abnormal but are admired for their perseverance and self discipline. Yes, it must be expected that anyone studying the TRUE elements of the soul, the psychic, must be considered abnormal so man will do all in his power to destroy, haggle, dispute, regale, call it unreligious, but this is only because the so called normal person is normal only because he cannot see or understand or search for anything which HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN DONE FOR HIM. Any true researcher must expect this but he never allows it to deter him from his goal. So be it.
