I, recently, went out of my way and cancelled other obligations to see what I could do for two people who called me and said they needed help. All each of them wanted was for me to tell them about their money and the women in their life. Each one had STARTED in one of my classes last semester. They came once and then once again a few weeks later and then I never saw them again. Each one insulted me by asking, "Jack, can you tell me if there are any classes I can go to in order to develop my psychic abilities?"

Why did they call me? What was their purpose? They would never consent to TRY any of my lessons unless they were sure they would tell them how to get a lot of money and how to get more women to sleep with. It is as simple as that.

What does this have to do with spirit guides? If I told them to sit quietly and ASK for Spirit to help them and to guide them toward SELF DISCOVERY it would not have meant a thing.

Wasn’t it John who said something to the effect that it is the spirit that quickeneth and the flesh profits nothing? What did he mean? Simply this. THE SPIRIT QUICKENS THE SPIRITUAL OF EACH OF US AND THE PHYSICAL EXPRESSIONS ARE BUT RESULTS OF THIS.

How should you try to "contact" spirit? Spirit doesn’t give a darn about your money or your sex life unless they lead you to a broader understanding of your OWN SPIRITUALITY!

Ask yourself these questions:

Will my materialistic desire help to lead me into a broader understanding of how Spirit and the flesh can, and does lead me to a better understanding of myself and my potential?

Will each challenge provide another opportunity for me to develop inner strength?

How would you feel if your God faced you with the question, "Why do you ask this of Me?"

Here, in a nutshell, is a simple formula of how to make a "contact" with your Spirit help…

Sit quietly by yourself. Sit in dim light. Calm your thoughts. KNOW WHY YOU ARE SITTING.

Now ask in plain and simple language for your spirit help to come. Tell them you hope they will understand why you need more money, a job, a companion, or whatever your need happens to be.

Do NOT be anxious. Do NOT be fearful. Do NOT doubt. Do NOT do this if you have been drinking or have been on some kind of drug or if you have taken some kind of tranquilizer.

IF YOU REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE THE SPIRITUALITY OF THIS THEN LEAVE IT ALONE AND JUST GO YOUR OWN SELF CREATED WAY.

Spirit Teachers are ALWAYS ready and willing to help you IF YOUR MOTIVE IS ON THE SAME LEVEL AS THEIRS.

Do Not ask for their help if you are unwilling to give your ABSOLUTE PERMISSION for them to do what they feel best to do.

Remember. Sit quietly in dim light. No doubts, no fears, no thought of evil intercession.

Be adult about it, not childish. Explain your need clearly and concisely. - Do NOT think that you are capable of doing everything for yourself. If this were true you would have no question to be answered. YOUR SPIRIT HELP COMES ONLY IN ACCORD WITH YOUR MOTIVE, YOUR PURPOSE, YOUR FAITH.

The two people I spoke about would never understand a lesson such as this. Why? Their only motive is in TRYING TO SATISFY THEMSELVES ONLY AND THEY DISREGARD THE OTHERS WHO WOULD BE AFFECTED BY THEIR FOOLISH SELF MOTIVATED DESIRES I Do you understand? I hope so.

When the voice from Spirit comes you might very well proclaim it to be YOUR OWN VOICE, YOUR OWN THINKING. What colossal conceit I If this is what you must continually think then do not attempt this lesson. If you do receive an answer and then immediately call me or anyone else and want them to tell you if it was evil or not then forget this lesson.

Ask simply for those in Spirit to please enlighten you regarding your problem. Tell them you believe they have your best interests at heart. Speak to them as friend to friend. NEVER think of them as strangers. Ask for the type of help that would understand your type of difficulty or request or need.

If you think this is a silly thing to do I feel awfully sorry for you. The knowledge of today will be but the primer tomorrow, but the WIDENING AWARENESS OF OUR INNER WISDOM AND THE WISDOM OF OTHERS IN THE SEEN AS WELL AS IN THE UNSEEN IS FOREVER!

Remember this, please… Our Spirit helpers and guides are AMBASSADORS OF GOD. THEY WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT IS NOT IN ACCORD WITH GOD’S LAWS!
