I grew up in a thoroughly Christian atmosphere. I attended church, I was taught how I must pray, I was conditioned to what would happen to me if I sinned. Christmas and Easter were the yearly highlights of my Christian upbringing. I was taught to believe in miracles but could never experience one of my own. Baptism was a “must". My sins were graded as the government grades meat.
As I grew older I realized that there are many other religious beliefs, ancient as well as modern. Of course this made my rationalization very complex. Was the life of Jesus geared to but a few? Were His teachings theological or political? Was He actually crucified for religious or political reasons? Other cultures have different approaches to their Deity. Then what is the answer? Of course! Everything from speaking in tongues, to making the sign of the cross, to the handling of poisonous serpents, to being born again, to being saved, to taking communion, etc. have one thing in common. Each is seeking a Spiritual/Psychic experience in relation to how and what they worship. Each is seeking, even if thru a man called Jesus, the DISCOVERY OF THE CHRIST WITHIN! Within what? Within OURSELVES, of course. Candles are lit, incense is burned, serpents are handled, speaking in tongues, shouting hallelujah’s and praise the Lord's are all a part of the truth of seeking a spiritual/psychic experience. Then what, exactly, do I mean by a "spiritual/psychic” experience? It is mankind’s psychic awareness that brings the spiritual into physical expression and experience. The word "psychic" simply means SOUL AWARENESS or the awareness of the CHRIST WITHIN.
It all leads up to one thing. It is all a part of our personal relationship with the Christ. Now we come to the fact that each of us should salute the Christ in ALL express-ions of religious beliefs be they foreign to us or not. ALL ARE ACTUALLY WORSHIPPING THE SAME THING!
Spiritual/psychic research and development is too concerned with bending of spoons, crystal balls, ouija boards, etc. and the spirituality of it goes begging. True spiritual/psychic development reveals this one basic fact, THERE IS NO DEATH and the Christ consciousness is in all expressions of worship. Spiritualism is condemned by many because it reveals the TRUTH that "spirit" is as real as the physical that man, religion, yes, even our idea of Christianity opposes. If I am "born again" and it is a very real experience then it stands to reason I have had a very wonderful SPIRITUAL/PSYCHIC EXPERIENCE. Spiritualism simply proves the immortality of the soul. Jesus proved it. Many religious beliefs declare it and then deny any attempt to prove it. It then becomes a very complex argument that is more physically oriented than religious oriented. The more I studied and researched the more I realized that the Christ, as taught by Jesus, was in all other ancient teachings, even before the time of Jesus. Actually ALL ARE THE SAME! Just different approaches to the truth. Now we should begin to recognize what the Christ REALLY IS. It is not Jesus, God, you, me. It is the Divine part of all creation, yes, even in the family pet, the flowers in our garden, every blade of grass.
I was recently told that while I was in trance something to the effect "came thru" about so many building a cocoon around themselves and then simply clinging to a branch on the tree of life. I do not know what all was said about this but I have been giving it a lot of thought. I can see the sense to this. We encompass ourselves with a lot of pretty words, pretty prayers but allow ourselves to become parasites. We are always looking "up there somewhere", "out there somewhere" for someone (God) to do everything for us. Each person must accept their own responsibilities and then DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM. Prove this for yourself, please. Have you been having a problem, perhaps a difficulty with someone else? How long has it been going on? Certainly you, no doubt, have been praying and praying for an answer. How long has this so called praying been going on with matters getting no better? Are you clothed in your own self created cocoon waiting for something or someone to do something about it FOR YOU before you break away from it. Have you ever considered how many of us actually have put God in a cocoon? We have made Him a static loving, and in the next breath, a vengeful God. “God, do this for me. God do that for me. God change the other person but do not change me." On and on it goes and still the beauty and power and love in TRUE spiritual/psychic development is ignored. Of course the psychic is very much a part of any and all religious beliefs.
