My wife is sitting across the room from me. She is reading and I am working on my class lessons. We haven't spoken to each other for several hours but there is a feeling of "coziness", of "companionship", of "intimacy” between us. The fire is burning brightly in the fireplace. There is no need for conversation. Words would spoil the beauty of the exquisite experience. Such moments are so rare and we do not take the time to savor and enjoy them. I am recalling a fishing buddy. We would fish in the middle of a mountain stream in our hip boots perhaps a hundred or so feet apart. When one of us caught a trout we would give to each other a sign by placing our thumb and middle finger together forming the affirmative circle. Again there would be the feeling of cozy companionship. It is difficult to explain other than it is a feeling of oneness, of complete understanding, of total unspoken friendship. Oh, how rare this is and how we brush it aside when it happens. My son-in-law, my friend Jack F. and I went to the mountains to cut firewood for the winter. We were each doing our job, panting and sweating and working together as one. Again there was that wonderful feeling of complete intimacy, complete joy in being together. There are no words to describe it.

Such moments as these are so intimate, so beautiful, so rare. Isn't it a shame we do not take time to appreciate and savor them?

If only I could teach the student to draw spirit closer thru such intimate companionship. If only we would ACCEPT and savor the cozy feeling of CLOSENESS with spirit how glorious would be the result. It really seems to me many of us are so busy talking about God, Jesus, Spirit and always trying to prove something in relation to them we take no time to really try to understand a lesson such as this. We are always doubting what I teach, what words I use (they never satisfy) we never allow ourselves to experience the exquis-ite INTIMACY between our God, our Jesus, our Spirit or even between you and me. And this intimacy is usually experienced WHEN THE LEAST WORDS ARE SPOKEN OR NO WORDS ARE SPOKEN AT ALL. There are so many who love to talk God and Jesus who are always trying to talk themselves into trying to reach some "peak" of meditation, a "I give myself over to Jesus", etc. but overlook the INTIMACY brought about WITHOUT AN OUTER EFFORT OR WORD SAID OR DONE!

Do you begin to understand what I am telling you?

Let us say I desire spirit guidance or a "contact" with a loved one who is in spirit so I ask for it thru my prayers. What usually happens? Is it not true that I start looking for, or desiring a "message" of some sort? I insist upon identity. I demand OUTER proof. I conjure up some pretty verse or saying that means nothing. Wherein is the INTIMACY OF JUST KNOWING, FEELING, EXPERIENCING WITHOUT ALL OF THE OUTER DEMANDS. Where is the "cozy" "by the open fire" companionship that needs no words, no outer identity, actually no message? The TRUE message is EXPERIENCES thru the INNER PEACE AND ONENESS WE FEEL, WE KNOW. It is demonstrated in living a full and productive life in harmony with ourselves and our fellow man. THESE THINGS ARE THE REAL AND MEANINGFUL MESSAGES WE RECEIVE!

I have already taught you how to contact your HIGHER SELF. I often wonder how intimate we have become with it. Do we look at it askance, as a foolishness, as pointless? Have we achieved an INTIMACY with it? After all it is our higher self that is in tune with the infinite. Are we always busy trying to achieve a state of meditation, of prayer, of awareness we lose sight of our intimate relationship with our higher self?

A loved one has passed over. Do we constantly dwell on the idea that "they are gone" and deny the intimacy of KNOWING they are alive as ever and want so much for us to FEEL their closeness? The intimacy is never experienced because we live within the idea that they are "there" and we are "here" and the gap we ourselves created is too wide to be overcome.

And now a word to the doubters. What I am trying to teach you IS NOT A LOT OF BALONEY! The world of spirit is just as real as the physical world. Why should those, in spirit, want to be intimate with us? They KNOW that there is one God, one Life, one Consciousness. The demands of the physical do not hold them bound. They KNOW we are all of one essence and their progress is furthered by contributing to the overall progress of total creation.

WITHOUT INTIMACY THERE WOULD BE NO PROGRESSION! So be it and
